But then, as we grew older, One major challenge that we face is what to do next with our lives after high school.
As a child, growing up, I always thought that I would become a medical doctor. So I could be adorned on a white lab coat, examining the sick and giving them hope of living again as if their messiah.
My dream never became a reality. But that’s a story for another day.
Life happens to all of us, everyone of us. Sometimes, those sweet dreams of us becoming a world changer may not become a reality.

I have had the privilege to speak with many young adults in my almamater the last time I visited. I discovered that many of them are either clueless or totally confused about what to do with their time immediately after school.
So I have decided to put this note together as a piece of advice. Because if this issue is not addressed now, many of our young adults might end up wasting several months and years drifting without any focus.
Some may eventually end up on the street, while some will become threat to the society at large.

3. VOLUNTEER FOR ORGANIZATIONS.

Look for organizations such as NGOs, Public Libraries, Small business ventures, Schools, skill acquisition centres or even Churches where you can volunteer to serve.

One major mistake we make after school education is to stop improving ourselves. Some think that the new freedom they have after school is to be used for ‘enjoyment’ or to relax from studying.
May I shock you that such ideology is a grave mistake! After school, that is when the journey of life just began!
Life is a phase and every phase needs a good preparation. So to think you need a break for reading or improving yourself after school is to deceive yourself directly or indirectly.
The world is constantly changing. If you don’t update yourself, you may become outdated and left behind.
So find ways to constantly improve your mind by reading self improvement books, edifying books on leadership, purpose driven books, money, relationship, etc. attend seminars, Go see educational or inspirational movies, and so on.
Use your time to watch free tutorials on your chosen field almost any field on the internet, YouTube to be precise.
Improving your personality is one of the things you can do with your life after secondary school in Nigeria.
The few points above are the things you can do with your precious time after school. This is not the time to get yourself distracted by social media platforms and wasteful time before the television or even associating with friends that are not adding any positive value to your life.
There are many adults today who wished they had access to information like this generation, so don’t ignore this advice. Arise, take initiative and start something useful.
